About Us
Inspired by the Latin poem by Horace, CARPE DIEM REVIEW was founded with a mission to showcase visual, literary and performing arts that emphasize the highlights of everyday people and everyday life.
According to the renowned English philosopher, Thomas Hobbes, life is “nasty, brutish and short” which makes it a good idea for one to take full advantage of everyday opportunities to make the most out of their lifetime. The daily life of humans can be expressed as art, whether visually in photography, sculptures or drawings and paintings and literary arts like poetry and prose to performing arts like dramas, operas or the movies. The founders of CARPE DIEM REVIEW hope to embellish and amplify the unique distinctive nature of everyday moments captured in the form of art works.
The following is a list of those significant words that have inspired the making of CARPE DIEM REVIEW.
“Life is nasty, brutish and short.”
-Thomas Hobbes, English Philosopher
“Eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.”
-I Corinthians 15:32
