This is part one of our ongoing series – Carpe Diem in Hong Kong.
“Concrete Forest” is reminiscent of the architecture from 1960s to the 1970s in Hong Kong consisting of the typical concrete construction. To facilitate the growing economy and population, buildings had to erected quickly and efficiently. This photo was taken at Peking Road in the bustling Tsim Sha Tsui district in the Kowloon side of Hong Kong, where local and tourists gather in one of the busiest areas in Hong Kong.

Despite the rapid economic growth and industrial development in China since the 1980s, skyscrapers left unfinished in the middle of the central business districts are a common sight. Whatever the reason, here they sit, for the next ten, maybe even twenty or thirty years, before they actually get developed. This is the blight of overgrowth.
